Electricity

Power for empowerment

The reliability of the electric grid and power supply is low with rolling blackouts being the norm and sometimes electricity is shut down with no warning. Many children live in areas where there is no electricity at all. This brings obvious challenges to the children and their families. Children are involved in running the household, and homework must wait until the chores are done. This often means after the sun has set which makes studying extra challenging.

TRUE BENEFITS OF ELECTRICITY

Ambition and confidence: To be able to do their homework, study or read, gives the children a chance to keep up with schoolwork and improve their knowledge, helping them achieve their goals and have better control over their future.
